What is the difference between Inverter and non inverter?

The difference between inverter and non inverter is the inverter units can alter their speed in response to cooling demand. Some units have an initial over-speed period where they will run at a slightly higher capacity for a set time to pull down the temperature of a hot room. When they reach the set point temperature they can reduce capacity to maintain that level without cycling as much as a normal unit would. This saves power although it’s arbitrary as it would still take a while to recoup the increased purchase costs.
The inverter unit increases the power usage slightly as it converts the incoming power into a suitable style for the air conditioner although the ability to run at a reduced power level helps to drop the overall usage to below that of a typical non-inverter unit. Most of the advertising claiming 30% lower bills using inverters are based on very carefully set up laboratory scenarios. In reality, while they may cost less to run than a conventional unit, buying an efficient conventional unit will still be cost effective.

What is the difference between digital compressor and an inverter?
In digital scroll compressors, the motor runs continuously at full speed, and the capacity of the compressor is adjusted by a digitally controlled mechanical unloader (slide bar) which adjusts the vertical positioning of the orbital scroll with respect to the fixed scroll thereby reducing its capacity.

In inverter scroll compressors, the relative positions of the scrolls does not change, but the speed of the motor is adjusted by a variable speed drive, which adjusts the capacity.

The inverter scroll compressor is more energy efficient at part load conditions than a comparable digital scroll compressor. The digital scroll compressor will more closely match a specified load, but is not as energy efficient as a comparable inverter driven compressor. Both types of compressors have associated built-in mechanisms to maintain compressor lubrication at low flow.

How long does it take to install ducted air conditioning in my home?
For ducted a/c system depending on the size of the house and the degree of difficulty, most installations are completed within one day. For split systems they can vary between 1- 4 hours.

What Maintenance is required for my Air Conditioning Unit?
Air Conditioning units require regular service to prevent against untimely or expensive repair costs. Regular Maintenance or service has many benefits and while it prolongs the life expectancy of the system it also maintains its efficiency, reliability and its effectiveness

What is the operating cost?
Operating costs are determined by how long the air conditioning system is running. It is essential that the correct size unit is installed. An undersized unit will be significantly more expensive to run taking longer to heat and cool the area effectively.

What is zoning in a ducted system?
Zoning allows you to turn on and off the air conditioning in certain areas of the house. This is done through the use of zone controls in the ductwork in the ceiling space. For example, a two-story house may have an upstairs and downstairs zone, commonly called a day night zone. A larger house may have four or five zones, and depending on the size of the air conditioning, there may be a restriction to how many zones can operate at any one time.

What is a Outlet/vent?
Vents are the opening in the rooms of a ducted air conditioning system through which conditioned air flows. Outlets/Vents are usually mounted in the floor or ceiling.

What is Duct?
Ducts are the flexible tubes through which cooled or heated air is moved through a house in a ducted system. Ducts are usually mounted in the ceiling or under the floor.

What are the benefits of a ducted system over a split system?
A ducted system is designed to air condition more than one room within your home. The indoor fan coil unit is situated manually in the ceiling space and is connected to the outdoor condensing unit. Individual outlets are situated in each room with the air conditioning controlled by a central controller. Unlike the ducted system, the split system is primarily designed to air condition only one room. If you are looking to air condition the whole house then you should consider a ducted system.

What is a Star Rating?
Star Rating is a simple method for identifying the energy efficiency of a given air conditioning unit. The more stars the more efficient the unit.
